  • Gyeongsan-si is located in south central Gyeongsangbuk-do while sharing the border with Dagu-si in the west, Cheongdo-gun in the south, and Youngcheon-si in the northeast. Gyeongsan-si, which stands at the eastern end of Daegu-si, a basin region, is a traffic strategic point linked with Seoul-Busan Railroad Line, Daegu Railroad Line, Seoul-Busan Expressway, National Road 4, and Industrial Road 25.
  • As a result, Gyeongsan plays the role of a gateway to Daegu from the southeast region, including Pohang, Gyeongju, Ulsan, and Busan. In addition, Gyeongsan-si, which is connected with Daegu-si, has the strong characteristics of a suburban region close to a megacity as it belongs to the one-day life zone of Daegu-si. Thanks to such geographical features, Gyeongsan-si can be seen as a city with mixed urban and rural characteristics playing multiple roles, such as as a suburban agricultural area, a suburban private educational institute area, and a suburban residential and industrial area.
